영국 응급외과·가정의학과 전문의 로버트 웰스 이메일 인터뷰

“나에게 또 이런 증상이 생긴다면 그 때도 주저없이 한국의 병원을 찾을 것이다.”
2004년 8월, 영국의 한 전문의가 아무런 연고도 없는 한국을 찾았다.

당시 갓 40대였던 그는 영국의 응급외과와 가정의학과 전문의인 로버트 웰(Dr. Robert A Wells) 박사였다.
그 때까지 그는 한국이라는 나라에 별 관심이 없었다. 관심이 없으니 모르는 것도 많았다. 그런 그가 왜 한국을 찾았을까.
최근 e-메일을 통해 그와 대화를 나눴다.

그는 “매우 기분 좋은 경험이었다.”면서 기꺼이 질문에 답했다.
